for mom Our look is natural and comfortable. Wear clothing that you feel comfortable in and clothes that make you love the way you look. How you perceive the way you look in your mind will affect how you feel in front of the camera. So take a little time to pamper yourself before your session. Fabrics that form to you or have some stretch in them will keep you from looking too weighted down by fabric and will show the shape of your belly better. However, avoid clothes that are too tight fitting or binding. They are uncomfortable and they will leave lines on your belly should you choose to have photographs that show the skin. Knitted sweaters, or other very textured clothing, look great in portraits. Denim bottoms or stretchy black pants go with most any top. Long sleeves or tank tops are best. Choose short sleeves only if you have arms that are slender or sculpted as they tend to draw attention to the arm area and accentuate any weight you might be carrying in that area.

for dad jeans or khaki’s depending on what mom has on. Plain dress shirt, or plain crew neck t-shirt in colors like white, black, or gray. If mom is wearing black, avoid white, and vice versa. No shirt is an option as well if you are comfortable with that idea.

for baby newborns look great in just their sweet baby skin. Outfits are cute only if they are made of stretch fabrics and are not overly big or bulky. One piece, solid sleeper outfits in bright colors are another option that look great. Older babies should be dressed in outfits that fit. Girls look cute in simple dresses, and boys look great in jeans or khakis with a solid colored top. note All jewelry on everyone should be kept to a minimum if included at all, especially on dad. Light reflects in distracting ways on some pieces and distracts from the people in the portrait. If you decide to wear a piece of jewelry, we would advise something simple and timeless such as a solitaire diamond necklace or earrings or small and simple pearls. No watches please!
